first impression leaves a deep impression...

a visit to PASS... finally!! so now we know how our working environment is like...

from day 1, i had always thought that we are going to make the weekly trips to changi to share our expertise. so when i finally realise that we are only going to come to PASS for the lessons, you could imagine how much joy i felt. *phew* can sleep more for that few extra mins!! hehe.. but dont worry ya? i wont be late for the weekly lessons! *smiles*

speaking of late, i was quite surprise i was on time when i met up with the rest of the team at paya lebar mrt station. it was on-the-dot! and i was like whoa! just when i thought i would be late to meet them. hehe...

so lets talk bout what happened during our first trip to PASS. the place itself looks interesting. three buildings in fact, all of which are under CISCO. so when we arrived, we are like thinkin which building we should go to. haha.. then, we waited for the rest to arrive with mrs tang. and having those id tags made us kinda look like the staff there. yeah, we are policemen for a day! haha... just kidding!

my first impression of the room/com lab we are going to use for our weekly lessons was stunned. like what the rest had said, the room appeared much bigger in the video that mrs tang showed us than in real life. i have to agree. then theres piles of envelopes at the back of the class, containing confidential details of the RT guys. and thats reali alot of them! then i realise how many RT guys are there... and we are only like handling only a handful? that shows how much work there is need to be done for this guys. we were also introduced to mrs rafeah. once again, i was stunned. cuz what i assumed her to be is like someone big, domineering, firm and somewhat garang (fierce), just like my chemistry teacher back in my secondary school days. but she was anything BUT all those assumptions i made. i was indeed quite surprised. and theres more surprises to come later.

well, she looks approachable, and that probably makes our tasks easier. *smiles* more surprises are to come later during the day. surprises such as not enough cable wires, not enough extension plugs, com problems and etc. one lesson learnt so far, expect the unexpected. and how to handle this unexpected-ness is another whole different ball game. such things like the com problems where some of the coms are operating on a different OS, made the whole team react. we tried to find ways on how to tackle this problem by calling outside help when it looks like its impossible for us to solve it. heck, firah even called her father!! haha.. but yeah, it looks like a battle that we need to fight another day.

on the whole, i think it was quite a fruitful trip as we managed to achieve most of what we had planned. we are even going down again tomorrow to settle whatever problems that we had encountered. as for the team, we are slowly but surely bonding with one another. jokes are shared. banters filled the room. its a pity lisa never make it for the trip down to PASS. and for 2 weeks already and we have yet to have a full team!! haha..

so far... so good....

joyce, getting acquainted with microsoft voice machine

sze ni... in the room of knowledge!

even with the combined of 4 heads, we are still left dumbfounded on what to do next!

PS: an appeal to the WIL team. can be more camera friendly? at least people will know we are doin work. hehe..
