RTC
sat's visit to RTC was certainly eye-opening for all of us. prison to me is something that we will never get to chance to go unless we commit crime. all we know about prison is just from television and that's it. by just going into prison, we got to go through so many places, cameras and bars are all over, every action of yours are being capture. the security is really tight. first visit was the cells and their outdoor yard. the cell was so small and it actually have to squeese in 4-5 pple and everything you got to do it inside, from bathing to relieving yourself. the 4 walls you got to face each day, it's really unbearable. a few days in it probably would drive me crazy already. pictures of the cell should be publicised man, so that people would be scare and would think twice before they commit crime.at first i thought that those people in there would be very fierce but i was rather wrong. they look okay to me, just like anyone of us here except that they are all in white tee-shirt, white long pants, slipper or black shoes and they are all botak. the discipline inside is really stern i must say. after some presentation from the prisoners inside, i must say impression of them really changed. some of them are so confident when presenting and that if they were outside, i really wont guess that they are actually ex-convicts. serious, i certainly agree with the yellow ribbon association that they deserve a second chance and we should really view them like the rest of us. guess most of them are really remorseful about the things they have done, no matter what it was esp when this guy from the adult prison(brandon) was telling us that we can help them alot by doing this and that, i felt a sense that he really meant well for the reforms and that he really wishes the best for them.
ok, i was yawning away at the presentation but i really did pay attention, i was listening. alot of doubts about prison life have been cleared. great job done by the boys.
after this visit, i must say that i really learn not to look at one's past. i wish all people out here who have never been to the prison should be grateful about our life out here and should never commit crimes which will then end u up in the prison. it's a really fruitful experience trip to the RTC.
We are only granted one picture of the building. All 9 of us with refeah, mrs tang and miss chew
a closer picture. but i realise some people have been blocked
