breaking the ice barrier...
its coming to week 7 alreadi. man, time really pass by very fast. before you know it, the semester is over, and so is wil. *sigh*on that fateful 20 May...
yes... our first interaction with the rt boys. believe me, before we kickoff our ice-breaking session with them, we were all nervous and dont know how to react or even go about interacting with them. personally, i have never been in this kinda situation where i felt the immense pressure of meeting new people. furthermore, me and yan ping were in charge of the ice-breaking games which takes up 3/4 of the session!
pressure! pressure! pressure!
its funny though cuz it was supposed to be us, who should break the ice with them, make them open up and feel comfortable during class. but the roles are reversed and it was them who are helping us feel comfortable and not be so nervous. they are like practically running the ice-breaking session. hahaha... our nervous side definitely shows.
the good side of the session is that the guys were willing to participate although they kinda having trouble listening to instructions. but nothing serious or major that we cant handle. anyway, its all in the name of fun!
twinkle twinkle little stars...
oh, we also managed to uncover some rare gems in the guys and also one of our team. the future singin sensations of singapore! the singapore version of hi-5! hahaha...
overall, i hafta admit, the whole session didnt went as i had expected. everyone of us were very nervous and the rt guys somewhat exploit that and ran the show. im not speaking in a negative manner though cuz at least they help us in breaking the ice. but as the tutors, we have to have some kinda authority over them so that we can facilitate the class. yes, we can be friends with them. yes, we can have fun with them. but ultimately, at the end of wil, we must impart some skills onto them so that it can help them in their life.
laying down the rules...
thats why rules and regulations of the class has to be set so as we all can together, reach our objectives with ease. but the fun part cant be foregone also as learning in a fun way is indeed an effective way of learning. haha... its as if im counseling here.
anyway, hopefully after this week, we somewhat managed to conduct classes more efficiently, less nervous streaks, and in a more fun manner so as to keep them and even us interested! thus, theres definitely more work to be done!!
jia you people!! *give me a W... give me a I... give me a L...*
